الملخص

This article endeavors to analyze the contributions of the Sufis in reforming society. Islamic teachings on morality emphasize community as much as they do the individual. Islam seeks to cultivate not only virtuous individuals but also a pure and harmonious society. It aims to ensure that individuals are content with the integrity of their personal lives while also striving to shape the collective, religious, and cultural life according to its principles. This collective orientation is fundamental to Islam, distinguishing it from private religions. Before the advent of Islam, Platonic thought, Christian mysticism, Hinduism, and Buddhist monasticism promoted an individualistic approach to religion, spirituality, and morality. These traditions posited that individuals could achieve salvation and happiness through self-centered means, focusing on formal worship and monastic practices without concerning themselves with the reformation and welfare of others. In contrast, Islam's communal focus integrates personal piety with social responsibility, fostering a comprehensive approach to spiritual and moral development.
